Sandy Sanderson started Western Roofing Inc as a small business in 1995. Founded on the values of service, quality, and commitment to roofing maintenance, repair, and replacement for commercial and institutional business owners, Sandy began a relationship with Duro-Last.

This privately held roof manufacturing company has been a leader in quality with its comprehensive “edge to edge, deck to the sky” approach to manufacturing and materials guarantee.

1996

Within his first year, Sandy hired Curtis Nicholson, who quickly demonstrated his ability to build on the company’s foundation through solid client relationships. The business soon doubled and then doubled again through the commitment to communication, service, and follow-up.

During the mid-’90s, Western began documenting rooftops, first with a Polaroid instant camera and, more recently, with digital cameras. At first, the goal was to document repairs in problematic roof areas where repeated leaks would occur. Quickly we realized thorough documentation of rooftops gave us an edge.

We could support clients in warranty and insurance claims by demonstrating they have met or exceeded their warranty and insurance maintenance responsibility.

1998

Curtis became a partner and continued to refine the operational practices of the business.

1999-2008

Western Roofing continued to grow, moving locations in Golden, Colorado two times. Growth came from our commitment to client relationships, educating clients about their roofs, setting the standard that hourly employees conduct work rather than subcontractors, and investing in the tools, vehicles, and infrastructure to support longevity in the roofing industry.

2009

Two significant changes occurred in 2009; Curtis bought out Sandy, becoming the sole business owner of Western Roofing. That same year, Western Roofing bought a seat in Xactimate, the insurance software used by adjusters to continue our work with client insurance and warranty claims. This investment allows us to independently assess the damage and prepare reports to support your claim.

2013

Western Roofing purchased the building at our current location in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, reinforcing our commitment to roofing right and maintaining a consistent, quality base of operations to serve Denver Metro and the Colorado Front Range areas.

2015

To expand our capacity and to take on larger projects, Western Roofing brought on an experienced General Manager to coordinate logistics for roofing multi-story apartment buildings, skyscrapers, historic buildings, and industrial towers. We partner with crane services and traffic control providers to maintain a safe and managed process to roof your high-rise or complex project.

2017

Western Roofing’s long-term commitment to quality and our partnership with Duro-Last has made Western the only Master Installer and Elite Contractor for Duro-Last in the Denver Metropolitan area.

In 2017 we received the Eagle award for a 95% or above rank on installs and volume of work. Western Roofing has installed over 2,000 DuroLast projects with over 13 million square feet of surface coverage.
